Every year at this time, we get a ton of orb weaver spiders outside. I hate spiders generally, but these are pretty unobtrusive and make nice webs. Today I was walking outside and found the biggest one I've seen yet, so I took some pictures of it. They're all behind the jump in case anyone is scared of creepy crawlies!
This is on my avocado tree. The leaf it's sitting on is the length of my hand and about half as wide, so this is a big guy! I got as close as I could without freaking out.
